Course Information

GIMME has been running successfully for all Yorkshire and Humber IM Stage 2 trainees for the last 18 months with universally excellent feedback. We recognise that there is a lack of simulation course availability across the country for GIM Registrars so from June 2024 we are delighted to be able to offer some dates for ST4-7 trainees outside of the region to book onto.

The course price is TBC, which can be claimed back from your study budget.

Course Aims

Perform an A-E assessment of the acutely unwell patient and identification of/and/or differential diagnosis
Discuss criteria's/protocols and management of the acutely unwell patient
Be aware of the non-technical factors surrounding the management of the acutely unwell patient
Discuss the practicalities and considerations for transferring a potentially unstable patient
Discuss decision making
Consideration of non-technical factors surrounding the management of the acutely unwell patient
Discuss skill set required for prioritisation of tasks with regards to a high risk patient distractor
